News flash, Sophia Bush has no surprise engagement updates.
"I hear the internet is being wild? I have no 'news' for you," Bush wrote in an Instagram Story posted on May 25, in response to online rumors on TikTok that she and partner Ashlyn Harris are engaged. "But wouldn't you put your hands all up in her jacket if you could?? (To be clear you can't because boundaries, but I'll continue to do it for you because I'm just generous like that)."
A TikTok creator dissected photos the couple posted from their trip to Paris, France, where the "One Tree Hill" alum can be seen hugging the former soccer player and seemingly hiding her left hand in her partner's jacket.
To debunk the rumors, Bush addressed the speculation on social media and made sure to flaunt her left hand − sans any ring on that finger.
"I get that it's new for y'all to see me so happy and so embodied. It's new for me too. How lucky am I," Bush wrote in another Instagram Story with a photo of her and Harris, per screenshots from E! News and People magazine.

Aside from TikTok rumors, an Instagram post from @tasteof_reality also speculated that Bush and Harris were perhaps happily engaged. "I have no data to support this other than the hand placement, but me thinks #SophiaBush and #AshlynHarris are engaged 👀💍" @tasteof_reality on Instagram captioned a series of photos.
Alas, Bush wrote over a photo of her throwing the peace sign, "I hope TikTok can relax now. Travel on, friends."

Sophia Bush comes out as queer, addresses Ashlyn Harris infidelity rumors
In a personal essay written for Glamour, Bush addressed her sexuality and infidelity rumors surrounding her relationship with Harris for the first time.
Bush, who filed for divorce from entrepreneur Grant Hughes in August after a year of marriage, and Harris, who filed for divorce from her former teammate Ali Krieger a month later, were then rumored to be dating in October, per People.
Bush explained the slow lead up and "painful conversations" that took place before she and Harris pursued a relationship. Social media, however, viewed their love as an affair.

"The online rumor mill began to spit in the ugliest ways. There were blatant lies. Violent threats. There were accusations of being a home-wrecker," she wrote. "The ones who said I’d left my ex because I suddenly realized I wanted to be with women — my partners have known what I’m into for as long as I have."
As far as her sexuality, Bush said, "I think the word that best defines it is queer. I can’t say it without smiling, actually. And that feels pretty great."
"I have real joy. It took me 41 years to get here. And while I marvel at it, I will also make space for people’s pain," she continued, paying respect to victims of "bullying and harassment and being outed without consent."
Sophia Bush, Ashley Harris' red-carpet debut
Days after Bush came out as queer and confirmed her relationship with Harris, the two made their red-carpet debut as a couple.
The two posed on the red carpet of the White House Correspondents' Dinner on April 27. Both wore black Harbison outfits for the event, as well as jewelry from Briony Raymond.
After the gathering of journalists, Hollywood stars and politicians, Bush and Harris also posed for photos together at the Swiss ambassador's residence.
